Home Farm in the village of Welcombe is a 200 year old stone build Georgian farmhouse that oozes character and no wonder with its interesting mix of former residents.

Dora Carrington and her companions stayed over many years at Home Farm and the subject of her famous portrait "Mrs Box" was the farmers wife of the same name. When the Box family retired it was bought by the colourful poet and playwright Ronald Duncan who created many great works whilst resident in Welcombe and had regular famous visitors such as the composer Benjamin Britten and the singer Kathleen Ferrier.

All food is prepared freshly in the farmhouse kitchen using as much locally sourced ingredients as possible. Meals are served in the dining room that was once the Victorian kitchen. Breakfast consists of cereals, toast, local preserves and a Westcountry cooked breakfast. Lunch is a light affair with salads and breads to allow room for Dinner which is 3 courses featuring local meats and fish. We are also happy to cater for those with special diets.

There is a large lounge with log fire and plenty of room for everyone to stretch out for fun and relaxing evenings of chatting and reading.

Our guest bedrooms are very comfortable with fresh crisply laundered linens and clean modern bathrooms. You can choose to share a room or have a room to yourself and there are 2 grades of room to choose from - Standard or Superior.

For a touch of luxury choose our Superior rooms which are all furnished to a high standard with antique and classic furniture featuring throughout and each room has its own modern bathroom en-suite.

Great for sharing our Standard rooms are bright and airy with classic furniture the main difference is that the bathroom facilities are located outside the rooms across a hall but are equally pleasant and have modern bathroom facilities.
