Reopened at Easter 2004 much to the relief of a very thirsty village! Real ales are from Sharp's brewery and include Anvil ale, a brew specially selected for The Old Smithy. The team of chefs, Lee, Chris and Tim prepare a variety of interesting dishes made using quality locally sourced ingredients. Chrissy and Lee have set about restoring some character to this lovely thatched pub by using local artist's and photographer's work to decorate the walls and reintroducing roaring log fires. Every Tuesday evening is music night when anyone is welcome to bring along their instruments and join in. Wednesday is "fiver for dinner" night. Other events include quiz nights and barbecue evenings.
