Greece Guided Walking Holidays 2014

Zakynthos is a really magical island and the more time we spend there uncovers more hidden treasures that we are so pleased to share with our guests, and what good company they all were.

Our first trips in May were blessed with fine weather and our hotel, right on the beach, was in the shining sun everyday. Wild flowers stretched out under the olive groves and the sea was as blue as ever.

There is such a rich history that has left numerous styles of architecture from Byzantine towers to Baroque churches some in ruins and others pristine. We were also lucky to capture a few rarer sights like this Swallow-Tail Butterfly.

We all enjoyed amazing lunches at tavernas along the trails each one unique and family run, nothing too much trouble – what could be better, a good walk with a convivial lunch too.

The trip in October continued the fun and we were once again blessed with lots of sunshine. Olive picking had just begun so we could see the locals in action, everyone is involved from the youngest right through the generations.

And of course the boat trip was the highlight, amazingly the skipper expertly guides the boat right inside the cave so we can see the corals and sponges in the dazzling aquamarine water.

What fun we all had with so many nice people from across the globe, memories to keep and new friends found, what a great experience for everyone - more to come next year.
